Non-invasive medical tools that help veterinarians diagnose health conditions in pets.
No matter how strong our connections are with our cherished pets, there is no way for them to accurately tell us how they are feeling. In the same way, visual exams can only go so far. This is where diagnostics like ultrasound and X-ray come into play. They help veterinarians diagnose and monitor a multitude of health conditions. To learn more, give us a call at 905-438-0664.
Absolutely. Both these imaging tools are non-invasive and pain-free. We use digital X-rays, so the tools emit even less radiation than traditional X-ray machines. Most patients can have their scans conducted with no problem at all. We do offer sedation for pets who have anxiety/aggression, or those who do not like to be restrained/still for long periods of time.
We can provide you with the results and the doctor’s analysis on the same day scans are taken.
X-rays get a clear picture of your pet’s bones and other “hard” structures within their bodies. They are commonly used to help treat broken bones or to identify swallowed items prior to removal. Ultrasounds see the inner workings of your pet’s heart, lungs and other “softer” organs. They can be used, for example, to monitor pregnancies.
Yes! Dental X-rays are critical in assessing what’s going on under the gum line. They help our veterinarians determine if teeth are healthy or may need extracting.
