Dr. Hoogers grew up on a farm in rural Port Perry. His love of animals led him to the University of Guelph, Veterinary Medicine program, graduating in 1993. Following graduation, he worked at Port Perry Veterinary services and Brooklin Animal Hospital. In 1995, he founded and opened Ritson Veterinary Clinic. He has a special interest in soft tissue surgery and internal medicine.
Dr. Hoogers enjoys the outdoors on their farm and spends free time fishing, skiing and snowmobiling with his family. Their favourite travel destination is Florida.
Dr. Hoogers and his wife, Lianne have three children: Gregory, Andrew and Graham. Dr. Hoogers currently has 4 pets, a Miniature Schnauzer named Pepper, a Yorkie named Gracie, a Labrador Retriever named Willow and their cat Freckles. “They are a wonderful part of our family and they bring us so much joy and laughter.”
